When you can't trust yourself, how can you ask anyone else to?

It's been months since Aden Colt left the Army, and still the memories haunt him. When he moved into a tiny boat off the California coast, he thought he'd found the perfect place to escape life. Then Sawyer shows up and turns his simple life upside down. Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laid-back beach town. Something is pushing her to experience everything she can—including Aden. But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk. For Aden, the past doesn't stay there; it shows up unexpectedly, uncontrollably, and doesn't care whose life it wrecks.

SHANDA'S REVIEW

Wrecked is the story of Sawyer who has arrived at her dying twin sisters home to take care of her final wishes. Celia doesn’t want people to know that she is dying and wishes for all the people she leaves to believe she is off on an adventure. So Sawyer is packing up Celia’s life and saying goodbye. The problem is that Sawyer and Celia are extremely different. Sawyer has OCD and is a bit uptight and Celia is a free spirit. This makes it hard to convince people of who she is.

While tying up loose ends she meets Aden. He has left the Army and his struggling with PTSD. Aden is intrigued by Sawyer because she seems so out of place. The more he gets to know her the more he likes her. These two start up a romance even though Aden feels Sawyer isn’t safe around him and she knows she is leaving.

Personally I thought the pretending to be her sister went on way too long concerning Aden. He didn’t really know Celia so there would have been no harm in sharing the secret. It made for some dramatics towards the end of the story so there is that. Aden is also suffering from PTSD but you never see him really get help for it. It is mentioned in the future but as far as the story there really isn’t any growth there. It would have been interesting to see him working on himself throughout the story.

All in all, this was a nice story. To be honest it has many elements I have read before. But if you are a fan of this genre or Ms. Salsbury’s writing you will probably enjoy this.
